Do you remember how I said yesterday that the start of a challenge was always easy? Read on for some of the silliness that crept in today!
6.30 am - Half a small banana before training with JP.
7.00 am - JP and I have enlisted the help of her personal trainer (Rich) twice a week. We decided to try an early morning workout and it was actually really good, by 8am we were all done and feeling super smug!
8.00 am - Half a small banana after training with JP.
9.00 am - I had the day off work today and Dan made my brother and I breakfast before we headed off to the CLA Game Fair at Blenheim Palace. Dan made his "Danny B Special", which is two towers, each comprising - grilled portabello mushroom, grilled bacon, grilled tomato slices, poached egg and a sprinkling of cheese on top. Sooo yummy! It totally set us up for the day.
10.30 am - We made a quick pit stop at Starbucks on the way to Blenheim. I had a Green Tea.
1.00 pm - After a morning spent wandering around the Game Fair looking at all the beautiful stalls, trades and amazing animals (I fell in love with the cocker spaniel puppies being trained as gun dogs, so cute), we stopped for lunch. The boys had hot dogs, and the girls went for pulled pork (with a healthy squeeze of ketchup for this little piggy). I had a few mouthfuls of the bun and then just ate the pork with a fork. With lunch I also had a half of bitter shandy.
2.00 pm - Lunch had given us all a taste for something refreshing and we went and found a bar tent to enjoy a nice bottle of champagne in the shade. The boys treated us to Laurent Perrier Rosé and I had two glasses.
6.00 pm - In the afternoon, Joanie and I went off to have a look around Blenheim Palace, it's the most amazing place and well worth a visit if you're in the area. By the time we got back and met up with the boys we were all ready for a snack. We managed to find a bench in the shade and tucked in to a mediterranean style couscous with a coleslaw underneath and some freshly baked pizza! I had a quarter of the couscous and two slices of pizza.
9.00pm - Back in Bristol, Dan and I were ready for some Dinner. We wandered up to Cote in Clifton Village, it always has something we both want eat on the menu, even when we're not sure what we fancy. I had the haddock wrapped in bacon served with a pea pureé, and a tomato salad on the side. It was so refreshing and tasty. I also had two glasses of dry white wine with dinner (go dry if you can, there's less sugar involved).
And then dessert also happened! This is my absolute favourite in Cote! Frozen summer berries with warm white chocolate sauce. You have to try it!
As it was a boiling hot day in the UK, I also drank lots and lots of water.
Today was clearly not the best in terms of food or alcohol, but I had the most lovely day, I don't regret it! I worked hard with Rich (the personal trainer) in the morning knowing that some naughtiness might creep in, and a Five Week Challenge is always going to be a question of balance.
I guess that's the whole point of this really. Can JP and I get the Bridesmaids bodies we want without cutting out all the fun stuff completely?
Happy Weekend Everyone! xx
