Hi everyone!
As most of you already know I'm on a detox plan, and you guys can follow the highs and lows right here. Days 1, 2 and 3 are already up, you can find them in the menu bar on the right-hand side.
Day 4 was a bit of a challenge. I had a crazy, busy day at work and then we had plans in the evening to go to the cinema. Cinema?! Yes, the place where they sell an infinite number of sweet and sugary snacks..... This was incredibly painful when you have a massive post-dinner sugar craving. We were really good though and didn't touch a thing! The movie on the other hand, not so good. I really liked Anchorman 1 so I don't know why I didn't like 2....the boys were laughing their heads off. For me it just felt too contrived.
Anyway, enough of the film review. Here's what happened on Day 4!
7.00 am Hot Water and Lemon
7.15 am Dan made me Breakfast! We had Granola with Natural Yogurt and Strawberries.
7.30 am I prepped my lunch. I heated up some Butternut Dahl (one of the Detox recipes I made the night before) and put it into a Thermos.
14.00 pm Lunch! I was starving. I ended up having a really busy morning so didn't have time to stop any earlier. Luckily when I opened up my Thermos the Butternut Dahl was still warm. The flavours are very aromatic, and the blend of spices is really tasty. A massive bonus for me at this point was that it's really filling! Lentils are so good for that.
18.45 pm For dinner I cooked Seabass Fillets En-Papillote, (this sounds way posher than it is - you just make a little pouch out of tin foil for your fish to steam in and pop it in the oven) with fresh Lemon and Italian Herbs. We had Roasted Veg on the side. It was really fresh and yummy. This was an adaptation of one of the detox recipes. A couple of them feature Fennel and I literally can't stand the stuff! Anything remotely liquorice or aniseed makes me gag.
19.30 pm Cinema. At this point I had a massive sugar-craving and was salivating about "just a few chocolate raisins.....". Before I devoured the entire pic-n-mix counter, I quickly headed off to Costa for a herbal tea! I got Gingersnap and Peach - it was really good and quietened my inner sugar monster.
22.15 pm When we got home Dan and I were both starving! There was absolutely no way we could sleep with such grumbly tummy's so I made us a small snack. We had 2 tablespoons of Natural Yogurt, approx. 25g of Pistachio's (a quarter of a 100g pack) and a teaspoon of Agave Nectar. I cannot even explain how good this tasted! We both savoured every last mouthful. This isn't on the detox plan....I'll get Fi's thoughts and come back to you! Oh and I forgot to photograph it, I was THAT hungry!
23.00 pm Bed!
