I "popped" into Boots with the sole intention of buying some more cold and flu remedies (I've been off work sick the past two days)....what actually happened was I forgot all about the reason I was there when I saw the 3 for 2 offer on all make-up, aaahh!! Approximately £40 later this is what I bought and why:
(L-R across the top)
1. Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Volume Mascara | £7.19
I've been using the "Thick & Fast" mascara by Soap & Glory (I got it as a present in a gift set at Christmas), and I do really like it but I don't LOVE it. I feel like by the end of the day it's worn off and I want to put another layer on but I can't because then it clumps. I've never really loved any mascara I've used but have tended to stick to either Clinique or No7 brands over the years. After reading so many good reviews on 'drugstore' mascara's I decided to give this Maybelline one a whirl.
2. Real Techniques Stippling Brush | £11.99
I have no idea what a "stippling brush" is really used for but I think you use it after you've totally done your base + bronzer/blusher to bring it all together, make sure there's no dodgy contouring/lines etc. Think I'll YouTube it and get some tips but seeing as my make-up brush use is currently slim-to-none I decided to branch out, live a little....(joke).
3. Real Techniques Foundation Brush | £9.99
This could be a revelation. It seems that a lot of girls use a foundation brush when applying liquid foundation to get a "flawless effect". I have never used anything but my fingers to apply foundation! My good friend Annie calls me "the worst girl ever" because I can be pretty clueless when it comes to the finer details of make-up/grooming etc.
4. Nailene Perfect Tips | £3.05
These are meant to be French polish guides but I bought them to do half-moon manicures. They are all over the Internet at the moment, you know when the half-moon next to your cuticle is a contrasting colour to the rest of your nail? Can't wait to try it out!

5. Bourjois Paris Eyeshadow in Shade 08 | FREE!! Normally £6.49
My friends always say to me that Bourjois make-up is just the same as Chanel make-up but packaged and marketed differently....is this true or an urban legend?! Anyway, the base eyeshadow from my Revlon Neutrals set is about to run out.....probably because it's the one I use everyday. This one seemed like a good neutral one to try and I historically know that I like the quality of Bourjois products.
6. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti | FREE!! Normally £7.99
Here's something you don't know about me.....I hate wearing lipstick for work during the day. I always feel just totally over-done and end up taking it off. I work in hospitals so I like my day time look to be neutral and fresh. I've heard a lot about these Revlon Lip Butters and they sound like they fit the bill perfectly. They're tinted and you can build-up the colour depending on your preference. I like this colour because I'm crushing on anything coral at the moment - I need it to be spring!
7. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Sorbet | £7.99
As above, but pink!!
So this little lot came in at £40.21, I saved £14.48 and forgot to buy cold and flu medication....ah well, my new pretty things have distracted me from feeling rubbish!
