Life | Detox Diary Day Ten

On Day Ten I hit a wall....metaphorically speaking of course.

I didn't sleep well the night before......something to do with getting woken up by a drunk boy at 4 am (ahem Daniel). And then I woke up to a massive list of things to do and just basically wanted to cry....but I didn't. DB (that's Drunken Boy not Dear Boyfriend nor Dan Bernard) made me a Berry Shake and then we headed off to Sainsbury's to get supplies. I should have taken a picture of the trolley, you've never seen so much green stuff!

09.00 am - Hot Water and Lemon

10.00 am -  Berry Smoothie

12.30 pm - Almond Bounce Ball

14.30 pm - Berry Smoothie

17.30 pm - Teapigs Chai Tea with a splash of Almond Milk. This is my favourite Detox Treat, it tastes really spicy, and is so warming and comforting.

18.00 pm - I took myself off for a little Epsom Salt Bath Exorcism, I was feeling so tired and grumpy by this point.

19.00 pm - We had Thai Green Curry (detox recipe) just like Day One, except for this time we had it with Steamed Kale and Pak Choi instead of Brown Rice.

The thing I have struggled most with in Week Two is hunger, and hungry Ali is not a happy Ali. I've made this Super Mood Kale Salad (Detox Recipe) to have ready as a snack. It's so yummy, it definitely helped to put a smile back on my face.

20.00 pm - We watched the last ever episode of Breaking Bad...sob! I can't decide whether I like the ending or not. Either way it was a great show. Now we need a new one to get into....any suggestions? What's good?

22.00 pm -  Bed.

Life | Detox Diary Day Seven

Week One is done, woop!

My celebration is fairly short lived though as I think Week Two is going to be a lot harder. This week we're replacing Breakfast (and maybe Lunch too) with a meal replacement smoothie to help detoxify the liver, eeeek!

Anyway, here's Day Seven for ya.

06.30 am - Hot Water with Lemon

07.00 am - Breakfast. I had Granola with Fresh Cherries and Unsweetened Almond Milk. As always, this was really tasty.

11.00 am - Almond Bounce Ball and a TeaPigs Chai Tea.

13.45 pm - Lunch-on-the-go! I had Hearty Winter Stew (a Detox recipe); it mainly consists of vegetables and beans. I went a bit OTT on the chilli when I was making it so it definitely had a bit of a kick! I'm really enjoying having something warm to eat at lunchtime, usually I'm not organised enough to plan ahead and heat my food in the morning to keep in the Thermos. This detox has forced me to do it, and I love it. Good for the old wallet too!

19.30 pm - For dinner we had Butternut Dahl (Detox recipe) with a Spinach, Cherry Tomato and Pine Nut Salad. The dressing was Lemon and Olive Oil. This was as yummy as the first time I ate it!

20.30 pm - Bath time! I added some Epsom Salts, it's so relaxing and good for the muscle aches and pains I've got from working on the house.

22.00 pm - Bed.

Life | Detox Diary Day Six

I'm so excited that we're nearly half way through the Detox! I'm also very excited because I got two fun deliveries today, one was my order of Teapigs which I've wanted to try for ages, and the other.....my new phone! Woop!

I've loved my iPhone for the last few years but it's time to move on. I thought I would give the Samsung Galaxy S4 a whirl, can't wait to try it out!

Today was a funny one, I ended up working at the house until nearly 9pm and hadn't prepped or made dinner. Dan got home from Football not long after so we decided to improvise a quick supper using ingredients that we know are ok for the Detox in general. The time we ate at is less than ideal but c'est la vie, I had a kitchen floor that needed attending to.

07.00 am Hot Water and Lemon

07.30 am I had the Oatmeal again - I'm actually starting to like it!

12.00 pm Coconut and Macademia Bounce Ball and a Teapigs Green Tea with Mint. Teapigs are so posh! They are pure tea in little "temples" that are made from a special bio-degradable material. The taste is great too. Very clean. Some teas can leave a residue in your mouth after (gross, sorry) but these ones don't. You can almost feel the goodness working!

15.00 pm I knew I would be home from work early today so didn't pack my lunch. When I got in I had Chicken Salad, it was amazing!

21.30 pm A Danny B Special - Omelette of course! That boy is the d's b's of omelettes. We both needed something quick. Whilst he made dinner, I prepped our food for tomorrow, love a bit of team work! Our omelette had onion, tomato, spinach, some left over roasted veg and we had avocado on the side. All fresh and clean so hopefully not too much of a detox fail.

22.30 pm Maple & Camomile Tea. Those sweet cravings are hanging around but this tea really helps and it's good at getting you ready to....

23.00 pm ....Zzzzzzz
