Life | End of May Bank Holiday

Note: This post is about a week late! I had no time for editing last week (blame the day job) but I still thought I would put it up, it's nice to reminisce about such fun times.....

Who doesn't love a Bank Holiday weekend?

In the past I have planned trips away to make the most of the extra day of holiday, but we headed into this one with virtually no agenda, and it's turned out to be a great one!

Friday night was completely chilled - pizza, salad, prosecco and magazines - heaven.

Saturday morning I met up with my good friend Annie and her outrageously cute baby Ralph for Brunch at Aqua on Whiteladies Road. The food was delicious and we had a great time giggling in the sunshine.

After brunch Dan and I walked to Clifton Village to have a couple of drinks in the sun. In the evening we met some friends for what I swear are the best burgers in Bristol, at The Lion. The reason why I know they are so good is because I've yet to photograph one - I just dive right in! Ah well, it's a good excuse to go again....

Sunday morning Dan made breakfast burrito's, d-lish!

First one to spot Mackie wins a prize (not really)
Later on we went to the Eat Drink Bristol Fashion event at Queens Square. We booked tickets for The Pony & Trap Carvery Lunch. Sunday turned out to be an unexpected scorcher and roast dinner is not the first thing I want to eat when the sun is shining, especially not in a hot tippee! We made the most of it though, and the food was amazing.

The day was finished off perfectly with a few rounds of delicious cocktails at Amoeba. I started with an Amaretto Sour but quickly moved on to Chanel No5's when I realised how amazing they are! A heady mix of vodka, fresh raspberries, elderflower cordial and prosecco....yum!

On Monday morning, feeling a little less than fresh, I went to a Spin Class with a difference in Milennium Square. It was a new type of class called Vibe. It basically works by ensuring you're having a LOT of fun whilst you cycle, doing different movements to the beat of some stellar tunes! Soral and I loved every minute of (and it's not often I say THAT after a spin class). Oh and the best thing was, it was completely free! The event was organised by Spogo. I think they're organising lots of free fitness events across Bristol this summer so check out their website.

I then joined Dan's family for a late lunch at Bill's. I went for the Chicken Skewers which were really tasty.

Another lovely weekend in the bag! Sometimes impromptu is the best way to go.....x
